This was a saying my great grandfather X.T. Prentis used to always say. It comes from the poem "The House by the Side of the Road" by Sam Walter Foss. I was reminded of this needlepoint my dad owns & has up in his house today while talking with him on the phone. What a simple, yet true quote.
